This ambitious 13-month project involved lifting the original structure to excavate and create a new basement level, providing much-needed additional living space. The home was stripped to the studs, and all plumbing systems were completely replaced to bring this historic gem into the modern era. Now featuring four beautifully appointed bathrooms, the project seamlessly blends the home’s historic charm with modern convenience.
Despite tight joist spacing and limited routing options typical in older structures, we overcame these challenges through meticulous planning and thoughtful trade communication. Modern amenities such as a Streamlabs automatic water shut-off system, a commercial-grade power-vented hot water tank, and two sleek wall-hung toilets were installed to meet the homeowners’ vision of a modern, open-concept living space while respecting the integrity of the original architecture. The result is a spacious, sophisticated home that combines history with modern luxury.
